Pennsylvania’ ‘How to Catch a Monster’
The young actress from Carlow will star opposite Cynthia Nixon (‘Sex and the Ci fake rolex ty’) in ‘Stockholm, Pennsylvania’, the debut feature of Nikole Beckwith. With a script written by Beckwith based on a play of the same name, production will begin next week in Los Angeles.
Ronan stars as Leia, a young woman raised by a kidnapper who is ‘developmentally stunted’. Following twenty years of separation, Leia struggles to develop a connecti fake rolex on with her actual parents even with her traumatised mother, played by Nixon, trying her hardest to re establish a connection with her daughter. Jason Isaacs (‘The Patriot’) will play her captor while David Warshofsky (‘Taken’) plays her father.
Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut, ‘How To Catch a Monster’, for which he has also written the script, was filmed last May in Detroit. Ronan was recently announced as part of the star studded cast. The remainder of the confirmed cast Christina Hendricks, Matt Smith, Eva Mendes and Ben Mendelsohn include several of Gosling’s previous co stars from ‘Drive’ and ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’.
The ‘fantasy noir’ is set against the backdrop of a surreal, vanishing city where a single mother of two (Hendricks) gets swept into a gruesome fantasy underworld. Sierra/Affinity is handling international sales for the feature at the current EFM.
Repped by CAA and UK’s Macfarlane Chard, Saoirse Ronan has a busy schedule ahead as she has also been cast opposite Domhnall Gleeson in ‘Brooklyn’, which is to commence filming in May. The adaptation of Colm Tobn’s novel will be shot in Wexford over several weeks.
Ronan has won six IFTAs including the Rising Star Award. She received an Oscar nomination for her role in ‘Atonement’ in 2007.
She will next be seen in ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, the premiere for which took place at the Berlin International Film Festival last Thursday. Directed by Wes Anderson, t fake rolex he film is screening as part of JDIFF this weekend. A trailer for the film can be seen on Youtube.
