Migrant bag thief jailed for the ninth time
“Practised and professional” thief Sami Mostafoui, 38, an Algerian national, was given his ninth spell behind bars for taking two handbags from women in the City of London.

Mostafoui placed his jacket over bags and then retrieved it, whisking the bags away at the same time.
Among items he stole were an iPad and iPhone omega watches which meant victims lost personal information and photographs. Detectives recognised him from the CCTV and arrested him at his digs in Manor Park.
He pleaded guilty today to the thefts and was also ordered to pay an 80 victim surcharge. But the judge, Recorder Michael Wood, said he was sure it would never be paid.
